I thought you were supposed to install them in the other orientation so they don’t just become a ladder for the kid to get out the window?

Hmmm. We just open the window and looked at them… doesn’t seem to be room for even a very small person to climb out. Thanks, though — that’s totally a mistake I could see us making.
