Blitzen told her therapist yesterday. Our whole family. Luckily, the therapist sought clarity before calling the FBI. We’re ‘running away’ this weekend when we go to the Poconos for our annual Beach House Not at the Beach retreat. For the past couple of years, we’ve invited some college friends with kids to join us for a weekend of kid centered fun and this year we actually have a kid to bring.
So we’ll be getting away from the city for the weekend. Or ‘running away’ if you are a 9 year old with an overactive imagination.
Blitzen also shared with the therapist that Andrew and I are really wild in bed. Ha, don’t we wish! Whenever someone’s covers are particularly messy in the morning, Blitzen will proclaim (and mostly about herself but sometimes about us) that the person was ‘sleeping wild in the night’. Again, luckily, Blitzen is a bit of talker so the root of this interesting statement was soon revealed when Blitzen talked about how Andrew and I fight over the covers (this is true, we often tease one another about it) and will surely spend the evenings after we have ‘run away’ being ‘wild in bed’.
My life sounds much more exciting when Blitzen talks about it.
I needed a good laugh. Kids do have a way if turning the mundane into exciting adventures!
